BeU was established in 2012 as the first true hot yoga studio in Wilmington NC. Hot yoga is a growing style that offers students the traditional practice in a heated environment. What makes this space unique for hot yoga is not only the 105-degree heat but the addition of humidity, enhancing the detoxification process. We also offer a variety of warm and non-heated classes to meet your needs. BeU is centrally located in Wilmington NC just minutes from Wrightsville Beach, Downtown, UNCW and Carolina Beach. Upon entrance you are welcomed by a warm staff into a comforting atmosphere that enables you to leave the world outside. We offer a beautiful, clean space with two practice Shalas. Shakti Shala is a light yet soothing space equipped with state-of-the-art heat and humidity and sound system created for the optimum hot yoga experience. Shiva Shala is designed to accommodate smaller non-heated classes and private functions. By offering a variety of class and pricing options, we hope to make yoga available to everyone.

Be Yourself
Why sweat? Strengthening, Increased Flexibility and Removal of Toxins: Hot Yoga strengthens and deeply cleanses the system, adding intensity to your efforts and raises the level of purification exponentially. You will work at a higher level in a heated and humidified room, increasing strength and removing toxins. The Heart, Internal Organs, and Improved Performance: People who have trouble with the heat will become accustom to practicing in a heated and may find improvement navigating hot summer days with improved activity levels. The work done in the heat causes arteries to dilate and thins the blood so more blood flows, allowing the heart to deliver nutrients and oxygen. Practice in a heated environment, improves our ability to regulate heat. Increased Flexibility: The combination of heat, breath and movement softens muscle tissue, allowing it to lengthen. Hamstring flexibility, for example, will reduce stress in the lower back. Those who are less flexible will find this to be a huge advantage to practice in a heated environment, however, caution must be exercised as well. The combination of mindfulness, proper pace, effort and a carefully designed sequence practice is critical to protect ligaments and tendons. Finding gratitude and acceptance of where we are on our mat each and everyday is part of the practice of yoga, acknowledging gratitude and mindful action to heal, to strengthen to work, to improve one breath at a time.
